Our story

The story of Mes Chaussettes Rouges begins in 2009 when childhood friends Jacques Tiberghien and Vincent Metzger came up with the idea of reselling the iconic socks made by the Italian tailor Gammarelli. Until that point, one had to go to Rome to buy these socks, and only a handful of knowledgeable enthusiasts knew about them. The Mes Chaussettes Rouges website became the first to sell them online and soon gained a global audience. Over the years our range of socks has increased (in terms of materials, colours and different types of socks) and we have established partnerships with brands such as Mazarin, Bresciani and Gallo among others. Today we offer over 400 different models and new collections are released every season, reflecting our goal at Mes Chaussettes Rouges; to have the best pair of socks for every occasion!

Since 1798, the GAMMARELLI family have been the tailors to the papacy. The legendary care that their master tailors put into manufacturing these exquisite clothes has made them famous worldwide. A few years later, the clothing house MAZARIN GRAND FAISEUR started proposing special green socks to academics. This particular green is taken from the silk threads that have been used to embroider olive branches onto the member’s jackets of the esteemed Académie Française since 1801. Mes Chaussettes Rouges is both happy and proud to be able to exclusively offer our customers socks from GAMMARELLI and MAZARIN GRAND FAISEUR.

You’re unique, why shouldn't your clothes be the same? All of our products can be personalised with embroidered initials.

Whether it’s at our boutique or on our website, we want you to have a special and enjoyable experience. Every order is carefully and manually prepared in our Parisian workshop. For us, the devil is in the detail, and your socks will be perfumed and wrapped in a red velvet pouch before you get them. Each order is accompanied by a handwritten note, and we love to keep in touch with our clients! Thank you again for your loyalty.

The Mes Chaussettes Rouges boutique

Three years after the launch of our website, Mes Chaussettes Rouges opened its doors on 9 rue César Franck in Paris' chic 15th arrondissement. For our clients, the boutique is a unique place to enjoy our extensive range of socks and accessories. For us it’s the best way to meet our valued customers, hear their needs and adapt our products accordingly. We regularly hold shoe-shining workshops where participants learn shoe care techniques from experts and exchange ideas with other enthusiasts in a friendly setting. Interested? Learn more here!
