Napoleon Bonaparte box set - Knee-highs - Limited edition
Box of 6 replicas of Napoleon's stockings - Limited edition
May 5, 2021 marked the 200th anniversary of Napoleon's death. To celebrate this page in French History and the love of socks, the Mes Chaussettes Rouges boutique acquired a pair of silk stockings worn by Napoleon Bonaparte himself.
It's your turn to touch excellence by acquiring this exclusive box of 6 pairs of knee-highs, replicated from those worn by Napoleon, each in a color that evokes an event in the emperor's life .
The 6 colors of the pairs in the knee-high box :
- Brienne : The uniform of the military school where Napoleon entered at 10 years old integrated socks steel blue .
- Consul : First among them after the famous 18 Brumaire, then consul for life following a plebiscite, Bonaparte loved and carried the red .
- Emperor : The coronation outfit of December 2, 1804 established white as official attire, hence these silk socks ecru.
- Hunter of the Imperial Guard : If he is Emperor, Napoleon is also a soldier, with a soul of little Corporal , his favorite color has always been green , the color of the Hunters of the Imperial Guard. Worn during its greatest victory, that of Austerlitz of course, Napoleon liked to dress like a hunter.
- Grenadier of the Guard : These grenadiers are undoubtedly the most emblematic of the Emperor's grunts , especially with their outfit blue and their bearskin hat.
-
Bicorn : Napoleon, on the battlefields, was an immense strategist. But also a silhouette. This silhouette owed everything to his bicorn hat displayed in battle (you can't make it up) even though the custom of the time was to wear it straight (in a column). This black sock therefore pays homage to this characteristic element of style. And we added a mark of the intrepidity of little Capora : “ Sire, withdraw or I will have you kidnapped by my grenadiers ”. General Walter wanted to protect the Emperor who was exposing himself too much to enemy fire to better appreciate the situation. So much so that he was injured several times, as in Essling in the heel. This black sock therefore bears a blood-colored mark at the toe and heel.
We offer three heights of socks:
1- Knee-High Socks
Height: these socks are quite long, reaching just below the knee.
Advantages: they offer more support and cover the entire shin. Their height is suitable to be worn with suit trousers.
2- Mid-Calf Socks
Height: mid-calf socks are shorter socks that reach the middle of the calf.
Advantages: they are ideal for people who wear tight-fitting trousers.
3- No-Show Socks
Height: these socks are very short, meant to stay hidden inside of the shoe. We offer different models for different shoes.
Advantage: the no-show socks are invisible in the trainers or moccasins but still protect your feet and shoes.
