The wool in our socks comes from merino sheep, the species that produces the finest, softest, and warmest wool. Originally from Spain, this species is known for the abundance and quality of its wool which, once knitted, creates fluffy socks. Wool is an insulating material that protects against the cold: wool socks are therefore ideal to wear in low temperatures. We offer different types of wool and notably, various thicknesses to suit all needs: from merino wool (the finest) to thick wool socks, like those in the Bison mid-calf wool range. Wool requires washing precautions: it is recommended to machine wash these socks on a wool cycle, with a spin speed of less than 600 rpm to maintain their shape. The Origin of Wool
