Dear friends, dear customers,
As you know, we have been the exclusive distributor of Gammarelli socks for the past 15 years. Gammarelli has been the tailor of the Popes for over two centuries. The recent conclave could have been a wonderful opportunity to shine a spotlight on these exceptional socks, glimpsed with every step beneath the flowing robes of the cardinals. Journalists in Rome, searching for a story between two puffs of smoke, reached out to us.
But we chose not to make too much of it. And so we let the moment pass quietly—along with Leo XIV in his immaculate Popemobile.
Because a conclave is not an event like any other. The Catholic Church isn’t hosting a fashion week (though, between us, Gammarelli could proudly hold its own on the Milan catwalk), and we didn’t want to tie our communication to such a solemn occasion.
That said, we couldn’t let this moment pass without celebrating Gammarelli’s extraordinary longevity. Few houses can claim to have practiced their craft since the time of Napoleon. A house that has withstood the centuries, the popes, and the trends—while remaining faithful to its thread. Hats off.
So no media splash this time. Just a warm thought for our Roman friends and their liturgical elegance—and a touch of pride as well, to be part of this beautiful story, hopefully for many more centuries to come!
And if you missed the white smoke, you can always admire the purple socks!
See you soon!

A deckchair in the sun!

Linen, that faithful companion of summer heat, is a naturally gifted material: it absorbs moisture remarkably well while letting the foot breathe. Grown in France and spun in Italy, this noble fiber has long been the hallmark of our plain socks.
But this season, things are changing. Thanks to a collaboration with tailor Scavini — a craftsman of well-executed detail — we’re introducing new summer variations: a pair with a deckchair stripe pattern that evokes lazy reading under a parasol, two houndstooth pairs for those who like to blend tradition into modernity, and a khaki pair subtly enhanced with a touch of grey vanisé yarn that highlights the rib.
Houndstooth: a cheeky kick at monotony

The houndstooth pattern carries with it a touch of wild elegance, even in name. It feels like a textile nod to the stories of Arthur Conan Doyle, where details always make the difference. This iconic motif creates a harmonious transition between brown shoes and beige trousers — a true stylistic bridge!
And that’s not all: discover two new shades of our super-durable mid-calf socks, designed in collaboration with tailor Blandin & Delloye. A refreshing mint green, as crisp as a mojito at aperitif hour, and a deep midnight blue, like a page from a noir novel.
The invisible socks are in sight
When temperatures climb above 28°C, no-show socks become a precious ally for your feet. These invisible socks offer:
Protection for your shoes – sweat less, and you’ll spare your shoes
Protection for your feet – sweat less, and your feet will thank you too
If you’re skeptical about how effective they really are, try this simple test: on a hot morning, put a no-show sock on just one foot — then compare at the end of the day!
In short: don’t wait until summer’s over to give them a try!
