Why choose non-compressive socks?
Non-compressive socks are a specific type of sock that come above the ankle. These mid-calf socks are distinguished by the absence of elastic bands at the top. These socks are sometimes preferred over more classic models for several reasons:
- Low compression: non-compressive socks do not squeeze the calf. They are therefore ideal for individuals suffering from blood circulation problems, edema, or those who have recently undergone surgery below the calf. A pair of mid-calf or mid-high socks will naturally be more compressive and should be avoided in these cases.
- Reduction of irritation: the elastic edges of short and high socks are designed to stay in place all day by tightening the leg. Indeed, repeated friction on sensitive skin sometimes (though rarely) causes irritation. Wearing non-compressive socks prevents these irritations.
- Better comfort: fans of classic style prefer mid-calf and mid-high socks for their support on the leg, which helps maintain a "smooth" and well-fitted appearance on the sock surface. However, it is perfectly possible to wear non-compressive socks in a more casual style. Since feet tend to swell during the day, these socks are more comfortable to wear.
How are non-compressive socks knitted?
Non-compressive socks are made in a unique way compared to other models and stand out in several ways:
- The material: non-compressive socks are knitted from high-quality organic cotton. This variety of cotton is particularly soft and comfortable, and retains its softness longer. The fibers used are "extra-long," characterized by exceptional fineness and great durability.
- Flexibility: although these socks do not have elastic edges, they are knitted in such a way as to extend the fine ribs along the entire length of the sock to distribute elasticity. This ensures good support and excellent flexibility.
- Reinforcement: to increase their durability, our non-compressive socks are reinforced at the toes and heels, two areas more prone to wear.
