The care of socks depends on their material

For socks made from plant-based materials

Egyptian cotton, cotton & linen :

  • Washing: machine wash, preferably cold (30 or 40° maximum) with spin speed between 600 and 1000 rpm);
  • Wash socks inside out and in a laundry bag to prevent pilling and preserve colors;
  • Tumble drying and ironing: strongly discouraged;
  • Flat drying recommended to preserve the quality of the fibers and the natural shape of the socks.

Sea Island Cotton & Silk :

  • Washing: machine wash (cold or delicate cycle at 30°, spin speed up to 600 rpm);
  • Wash socks inside out and in a laundry bag to prevent pilling and preserve colors;
  • Tumble drying and ironing: strongly discouraged;
  • Flat drying recommended to preserve the quality of the fibers and the natural shape of the socks.

For socks made from animal fibers

Merino wool, cashmere, vicuña, camel hair:

  • Washing: by hand (recommended) or machine (cold only or 30°, spin cycle max 600 rpm);
  • Wash socks inside out and in a laundry bag to prevent pilling and preserve colors;
  • Tumble drying and ironing: strongly discouraged;
  • Flat drying recommended.

Note: for the first wash, it is advised not to mix light-colored and dark-colored socks
