#Why claim these are the most durable socks on the market?

To assert that a sock is durable, we looked for a neutral and indisputable standard that allows comparing the resistance of several socks against each other. For this, we used the reference abrasion test: the Martindale test.

The machine applies friction and counts the number of cycles completed until the thread breaks. This gives the “Martindale” index expressed in number of cycles. Following tests conducted in a laboratory in Switzerland, our super-durable socks and knee-highs achieved the best results among a sample of 15 pairs from premium brands, with a resistance of nearly 49,000 cycles. This result cannot be converted into number of steps but corresponds to very intensive fabric use.

These socks come in Scottish thread or wool. They are made from thicker Scottish thread or wool, polyamide—a material used for boat mooring lines—and elastane, to give the sock a crisp, fitted feel when worn.

# When to wear them?

Regarding the Scottish thread socks, this composition allows for daily use. The Scottish thread and elastane give these socks a fine texture; they perfectly hug the shape of the ankle. This range is suitable for both professional environments and city wear. The ribbing adds a touch of elegance.

For the super-durable wool socks and knee-highs, they are suitable as soon as temperatures start to drop. This range is perfectly wearable with dress shoes.

# When should you avoid wearing them?

The super-durable socks made of 72% Scottish thread are mostly cotton and therefore do not have particular warmth properties. When it is very cold, they are not the most appropriate model. In very hot weather, above 35°C, these socks are also not the most recommended.
