# When to wear warm men's socks?

Warm men's socks are ideal to wear from the first days of autumn and throughout the winter season, even for the last chilly days of spring. We have selected a wide range of warm men's sock models to meet all your needs.

How to choose your warm men's socks? We offer you different selection criteria based on which you will find ranges of warm men's socks suited to your needs and desires:

  • Socks made of warm but thin material: they are suitable if you are slightly sensitive to cold or if you want to wear them in winter but with tight shoes, for example;
  • Very warm and thick socks: these models are worn with boots, hiking shoes for example, or indoors, in slippers, for maximum comfort;
  • Luxurious socks: this selection of warm socks is a mix of thick and thin socks, all made from particularly fluffy and soft materials.

# Ranges of warm men's socks

As specialists in high-end socks, you can imagine we have more than one range of very warm men's socks in our pouches! And for good reason, here are our 6 ranges of warm men's socks, each with its own particularities to meet everyone's needs.

  • Thick wool men's socks: warm men's socks made of merino wool are basics to have in your sock drawer to face winter daily. These very warm socks range from the thinnest in merino wool to the thickest in super-strong Mazarin wool (durable socks of intermediate thickness), including the wool of Bison Mazarin socks (thick and soft socks). Why wear wool socks in winter? Wool is an insulating and thermoregulating material that keeps you warm while adapting to your body's needs and allowing your feet to breathe. Our selection of warm wool socks comes from unique and incomparable expertise. Renowned houses create strong and trendy pieces for an elegant and comfortable winter.

  • Warm men's cashmere socks: cashmere is one of the softest wools available. Warm men's cashmere socks are known for being particularly soft and fluffy. This is partly due to the fibers coming from the Kashmir region, where the wool is taken from sheep accustomed to extreme conditions. The must-have warm men's cashmere socks are the Mazarin mid-calf socks made of 85% cashmere, very thick and soft, a true delight for your feet in winter.

  • Men’s thermal socks in blended materials: combining different insulating materials results in even warmer socks thanks to the cumulative thermal properties. Among warm men's socks made of blended materials, there are cashmere & silk socks which offer unmatched fineness, softness, and warmth. If you are looking for thick and sturdy socks, besides the super-strong wool, there is also the range in wool and Scottish thread blend from Mazarin, warm and very wear-resistant – you will appreciate the very refined color combinations of their beautiful colored ribs. Whether you are in the mountains or the city, keep your feet warm with our thermal socks!

  • Warm silk socks: Silk socks are very thin and ideal to wear if you want to protect your feet from cold temperatures without overheating or wearing too thick materials. Indeed, the isothermal properties of silk give the socks their thermoregulating abilities: they keep feet warm in winter by retaining body heat, and cool in summer. The bonus of silk socks? They are very flexible and have a silky, shiny appearance that enhances the colors of warm men's socks (red, aubergine, steel blue, etc.).

Note: if you are someone who holes their socks, even the thickest ones, and think you can no longer wear noble materials, it’s time to come back to reason! Mazarin offers warm men's socks in super-strong wool. This range combines the best of natural wool (72%) with a synthetic material, polyamide (23%), to give it more durability. The super-strong wool socks are undoubtedly the most resistant winter socks available! They have even been tested and approved by the Martindale wear test.

Fun fact: why is it recommended to wear wool socks for hiking? Because wool is a thermoregulating material. It can absorb 80% of its weight in water which, in a sock, allows it to absorb sweat during exertion, limit moisture, and thus keep feet dry. Plus, it is antibacterial: it lets feet breathe and allows particles causing bad odors to escape. And the best? It is also a hypoallergenic material that does not cause allergic reactions. Your warm wool men's socks therefore guarantee dry, warm, and odor-free feet! Wool also allows for warm non-slip men's socks, perfect for a comfortable and safe hike!

# Our care tips for warm men's socks

The materials of warm men's socks are often delicate and require special care. Here is what we recommend:

  • Wash your men's thermal socks in the machine on a delicate cycle (maximum 600 rpm) and preferably cold (maximum 30°) to avoid any risk of felting;
  • For drying, prefer natural drying and if possible flat drying to let the fibers of the warm men's socks regain their natural shape. Beware, tumble drying is prohibited as it risks shrinking your socks!

Note: the range of warm men's socks in super-strong wool can be machine washed on less delicate cycles, at 40° in particular. The super-strong wool has been treated to withstand washing at warm temperatures (even tumble drying in case you forget!).
