# The Origin of Women's Cashmere Socks

The wool that makes up these socks comes from a small region in the mountains between India, Pakistan, and China: the Kashmir region. That is why it is named as such. More precisely, the Kashmir region is known for its activity in weaving cashmere wool derived from the hair of Capra Hircus goats, rather than for the exploitation of these goats.

Kashmir goats inhabit mountainous and therefore cold regions, such as Mongolia, the Tibetan plateaus, and the Himalayan region. To protect themselves from freezing temperatures, around -40°C, these animals naturally produce a thick undercoat. Cashmere material is thus obtained from this voluminous coat sheared at the beginning of spring. Afterward, the fine hairs of the cashmere goats are gathered and woven to form cashmere wool. This prestigious wool is then dedicated to knitting women's cashmere socks.

Naturally, cashmere hairs exist in only three colors: white, brown, and gray. Therefore, to achieve our splendid palette of about thirty sock colors, we dye the fibers of our socks. All our dyeing is done in our production workshops in northern Italy, a region renowned for its traditional knitting expertise. # Caring for Women's Cashmere Socks

Although one might think otherwise, it is important to wash your cashmere socks regularly. Know that cashmere loves water! It is in contact with water, not dry, that your women's cashmere socks will look their best: water restores their natural shape and makes them more supple and soft. With each wash, you will give new life to your cashmere socks.

Ladies, if you want to maintain the quality of your cashmere socks long-term, follow our care tips:

Ideally, wash your cashmere socks in the machine: it’s simpler and faster! We recommend placing your delicate socks in a laundry bag, then using a small amount of special wool detergent and running a cold wool cycle with a spin speed of 400 or 600 rpm maximum to preserve the cashmere fibers;
If you have doubts about machine washing, we advise you to hand wash them, so you can be sure nothing will go wrong! In this case, use cold or lukewarm water, a small amount of detergent, and gently knead the socks regularly to avoid deforming them.
For drying, lay your socks flat on a towel to allow the cashmere fibers to naturally reshape. Be careful, tumble drying is forbidden!
